This new wellness retreat at the beautiful Hawkesbury River Peat’s Bite Resort is a little slice of heaven.

Extraordinarily pretty, with comfortable accommodation, the retreat is not far from Sydney and offers an accessible introduction to yoga.

The retreat is intimate and affordable. As well as offering yoga and meditation for beginners, there is plenty of delicious food. And there is always time to chill and relax in a lounge, or grab a good book and settle in front of the beautiful lush National Park and look out beyond the river.

Allow yourself the opportunity to reflect and reconnect with the ‘inner you’ and to strip away the layers; to look at life in the sobering light of day.

Tais has teamed up with the Peat’s Bite family to create the ultimate in the balance between a chill-out retreat and a heavily programmed yoga retreat. It’s all about teaching people to inhabit their mind and body beneficially… it’s about self-mastery, so the Yogis can consciously improve their lives through simple, easy practice.

Each morning starts at dawn with optional meditation, followed by a sunrise vinyasa flow; unlock you Bandhas and learn about Pranayama breath. Allow this time to capture the best of you and feel free from responsibilities.

Connect with yourself and your body in the midst of a life full of responsibilities, obligations and worries. Explore and understand your internal landscape and teach your mind on a whole new level.

The benefits of yoga extend well beyond that of the physical domain, and we will take you there. Learn how to ride the highs and lows of life as you bend, stretch and journey your way through self-discovery on the mat.

Soothe your nervous system, dissolve deeply rooted physical tension and holding patterns, learn about acceptance and empowerment.

Peat’s Bite stunning surroundings, serving to soften the blow, and only one hour from Sydney, are only accessible by water, or if you’re keen, a good walk through the National Park.

Be engaged by a special guest speaker, life coaches and celebrity speakers that specialise in anxiety confidence or stress management.

It’s a dream to wake up in with the mist steaming over the river, and in the evening, the abundant wildlife singing tunes at dusk. Each day, guests will have two cooking classes with the resident Peat’s Bite chef extraordinaire.

With your mind at ease and your taste buds singing, get creative with the colourful produce and simplicity of fresh food. Imagine finally having those few extra recipes under your sleeve, home-made Quinoa, Apricot and almond salad, and a myriad of other recipes.

Thankfully, guests then get to enjoy the spoils over a long lunch overlooking the garden.

In the afternoon, you might retire to your cottage and relax in comfort. If you’re feeling more adventurous, the raw beauty of nature is right around the corner.

At night, enjoy a relaxing evening with board games or play some cards, or else have long, enticing conversations with new friends.

Whatever your goals, feel clean as a whistle, reset bad habits and return to reality with the tools to live a healthier, happier, more connected life.

    We guarantee you’ll be spoilt.

You will stop off en route at a local home at Dusun Village. The Dusun people are wonderfully warm and friendly people, and while here you’ll sample the local foods with a home cooked lunch get some insight into what it’s like to live in a rural village. Later you can stretch your legs and soak up the mountain scenery with a stroll through Kinabalu National Park. There are many walking trails from which you can birdwatch, and remember to watch for the odd snake. There is plenty to see and do here. The Mountain Botanic Garden is an excellent showcase of the diverse plant life on the mountain, as flora from all over the park has been replanted here. Late in the afternoon, you travel by private bus to Sabah Tea Plantation (approximately 30 mins). Tonight you will stay amongst the grounds of a lush tea garden.

By the end of the march, only 6 Australians survived, and only because they had escaped. In the evening, be touched by the sight of giant green turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs under the moonlight, and watch the researchers as they release protected hatchlings and guide them in their frantic dash to the ocean. It’s a moving experience that makes you think more than twice about trying illegally traded turtle egg delicacies. Human contact must be kept to a minimum, and it’s essential that you follow the instructions of the park, as directed by your leader. Also included is a new nursery where you can view young orang-utans as they learn how to climb on a specially constructed jungle gym. • Our Story

    Our Story

TAIS FROGGATT– DREAMER – FOUNDER AND YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Change can come in many forms in our lives. It might come forcefully like a tidal wave, or creep along incrementally like a glacier. It might come in the form of devastating tragedy, difficult choices, broken relationships, or even new opportunities.

Accomplishing anything great in life requires a significant change that pushes us beyond our comfort zones.

Many times the only way to improve our lives is to force ourselves to undergo change. That might mean breaking up and leaving a stale – but comfortable relationship, leaving a mediocre, but stable job, moving away from a nice, but uninspiring location, or anything else that’s holding us back from accomplishing our dreams.

Of course, dealing with uninvited change in our lives is not easy. In many cases, instigating major, but necessary change, can be traumatic. But whatever change you’re dealing with, know that how you cope with that change will have an impact on your future.

For me this was true at the age of thirty, when I gave up the dream of living in paradise. Up until then I had been island hopping, being the ultimate globetrotter, and spending time in the Mediterranean on private sailboats, working for some of the world’s most influential people.

I’ve seen a great deal of the world and managed to see through a window into the lives of other people and other cultures. I have come to love the laid back island life – relaxed, barefoot, bikini, trouble free, water and sun abounding, lots of smiling faces.

I couldn’t image my life without the watersports that I have come to love – surfing, diving, sailing. For when I am close to water, whether on the surface or down below, I feel a sense of freedom and inner peace.

I completed my first Yoga teacher training with Drishti Yoga teacher training on the beautiful island of Santorini. During my time there, I came to feel the re-energization in body and soul. I knew then what my next chapter was to be.

To go back to the world I know, and to show an incredible bunch of people what it is like see the world through Yoga.

The wanderlust within me wanted to share this process of transformation with others. The art of being able to step outside everything you’ve always known, to take risks, to remove the label of conformity, and to encourage others to be whatever they want to be, to make space for you to be the happiest you.

    I finally launched my dream.

Peat’s Bite in Australia, St Kitts & Nevis, Grenadines, St Lucia, Dominica, Mykonos, Cuba, Myanmar, Cambodia & Vietnam. It’s my privilege to share this journey with so many other like-minded individuals and to bring them together to re-inject that sparkle and connection with themselves and each other.

I welcome you to experience and discover the best you.

“Buy the ticket, get a tan, fall in love & never return.”
